Corrections
Every material factual error we make will be logged here, permanently, with the original error stated plainly. Nothing is quietly edited away.
The log
What counts as a correction
- Material factual error — a wrong figure, a misattributed quote, a misstated fact. Logged here, noted at the foot of the article, and the article's updated timestamp is changed.
- Clarification — the facts were right but the wording could mislead. Noted on the article.
- Typographical fix — spelling or formatting with no change to meaning. Not logged.
How to report an error
To report one, open an issue on the repository — there is no contact address on this site yet, and we would rather say so than print one that bounces with the URL and the specific figure or claim. We would rather hear from you than be wrong in public.
Where our numbers come from
Every article carries a dated, linked source list marked primary or secondary. If a number on this site is not traceable to one of those sources, that itself is an error worth reporting. See how we work.
